For the 2025 TikTok Awards, a high-profile live broadcast event at the Hollywood Palladium, the production team set out to create an immersive, camera-ready environment that could stand up to the intensity of national television coverage. With celebrity talent, complex lighting, and millions of viewers, the scenic installation needed to feel iconic on screen while performing flawlessly behind the scenes.
Honey Badger Fabrication delivered a large-scale architectural build that elevated the event’s production value, blending visual impact with durability and speed. Homapal® Metal Laminate played a key role in bringing the environment to life.
Bringing a Premium Vision to the Screen
Designed by Hustle Creative, Mimo Productions, and B. Young Productions, the set was conceived to read as intentional and high-end from every camera angle. Large scenic surfaces needed to feel seamless and monolithic, holding up to close-up shots, rehearsals, and continuous foot traffic without revealing seams, inconsistencies, or wear.
The goal was not only to create a striking visual moment, but to maintain that pristine appearance throughout the entire production schedule.
Building Under Pressure
The project combined tight timelines, complex geometry, and the unforgiving nature of a live televised environment. The scenic elements were constructed from modular components but needed to appear as continuous, uninterrupted surfaces on camera.
Compounding the challenge was a narrow 24-hour installation window. Materials had to be lightweight, structurally sound, and capable of rapid fabrication, transport, and on-site assembly, all without sacrificing the refined look expected of a major broadcast event.
The Material That Made It Possible
Homapal® Metal Laminate M4190 Satin Aluminum was specified to deliver the visual impact of real metal while providing the flexibility required for this complex fabrication. The laminate was applied directly over custom cladding and scenic structures, becoming the finished surface for large architectural elements, accent walls, and key visual moments throughout the set.
Its consistent finish allowed the team to wrap complex shapes and modular builds while maintaining a cohesive, high-end aesthetic across the entire environment.
A Seamless Result, On Camera and On Site
By using Homapal® Metal Laminate, the team achieved the richness and reflectivity of solid metal without the added weight, cost, or installation challenges associated with true metal panels. The material’s durability and clean finish made it possible to create large, uninterrupted surfaces that held up under intense lighting and close-up camera work.
The completed installation delivered a premium, broadcast-ready environment that performed seamlessly through rehearsals, talent walk-throughs, and the live event, reinforcing the prestige and energy of the TikTok Awards.
